Alfred Acuna Uribe

Alfred Acuna Uribe, age 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023. He was born on January 29, 1930, to Fred Mares Uribe and Maria Estella Acuna Uribe in Corpus Christi.

Alfred was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving as an Aviation Electronic Technician Petty Officer 2 from February 1949 to August 1952. He was stationed in the Panama Canal during his service.

After his military service, Alfred worked as an Avionic Electronic Technician for Chance Vought, later LTV, and as an ILS Electronic Technician for the Federal Aviation Administration from 1960 until his retirement. He was a hardworking and dedicated employee throughout his career.

Alfred was a devoted member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church, where he was actively involved in the community. He served on the Texas Baptist Men Disaster Recovery Team and enjoyed serving on Mission trips to Mexico. He had a strong faith in God, which he shared with his loved ones.

Alfred married Olga Amada Gonzalez Uribe in February 1957, and they were together for 63 years until Olga's passing in September 2020. They had two children, Nina Uribe Lambert and Omar Uribe. He was a loving and supportive father who always put his family first.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Nina Uribe Lambert, her husband David Lambert, their daughter Amanda Lambert, and son Daniel Lambert and wife Brielle. He is also survived by his son Omar Uribe, his wife Cheryl Ann Uribe, and their daughters Alexandra Uribe and Adrianna Uribe. He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Young and Sylvia Miller, and brothers Rolando Uribe and Rodolfo Uribe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Mares Uribe and Maria Estella Acuna Uribe and his sister Cynthia Uribe.

Alfred was a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, faith, and love for his family will live on through them.
